Marinus Power LLC is a privately owned company focused on the development and financing of offshore renewable energy technologies and projects. The company is working with developers of tidal and wave energy extraction devices and is also actively pursuing commercial offshore wind energy project development.

Marinus Power is based in Houston, Texas with a regional office in Portland, Maine. The senior management team includes professionals with extensive experience in energy, offshore capital projects, marine and subsea engineering, power plant project finance, private equity, and venture capital.

Marinus Power Launches TEDEC

Marinus Power and its consortium partners have just announced their first project, a world class Tidal Energy Device Evaluation Center (TEDEC), located offshore Castine, Maine. TEDEC will accelerate and facilitate the development and commercialization of various tidal energy devices under development around the world.

Maine Maritime Academy TEDEC

Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) announced today that it is moving forward with plans to establish a world-class Tidal Energy Device Evaluation Center (TEDEC) to facilitate and accelerate the development of tidal energy as a source of clean and renewable energy. MMA submitted a formal Application for Preliminary Permit to the United States Federal Energy Regulation Commission (FERC) on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, covering the planning, construction, and operation of a proposed TEDEC.
